Promise Meliga Jr. linked with Venezia move from Valerenga

Nigeria’s Promise Meliga Jr. is the subject of a transfer rumour linking him with a move from Norwegian club Valerenga to Venezia in Serie A.

The 18-year-old right winger has been involved in nine Eliteserien matches for Valerenga this season, scoring three goals. He has started 12% of the club’s league games and played 15% of the available minutes.

Meliga joined Valerenga from Remo Stars Youth Academy in August 2025 and spent part of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Kristiansund BK. That loan ended in July, when he returned to Valerenga.

The teenager has been used primarily on the right side of attack and is left-footed. His current contract with Valerenga runs until 31 December 2029.

Meliga previously won the Viareggio tournament with Remo Stars FC Youth Academy during the 2023-24 season. He has also made one appearance in the NM-Cup this campaign, playing 15 minutes.

Venezia’s reported interest would represent a move from Norway’s top flight to Italy’s Serie A, but the rumour does not include details of a proposed fee or the stage of any negotiations. For now, Meliga remains a Valerenga player under a long-term contract.
