The Professional Football League, represented by its acting manager, Mohamed Meslouk, has officially announced the date for the last round of the ongoing 2023-2024 football season.
Meslouk, in a statement made during a radio interview on Friday, stated, “We have decided to map out a plan to conclude the championship in the first week of June.”
The spokesperson highlighted that this strategic move aims to facilitate the clubs involved in continental competitions in the upcoming 2024-2025 season.
He further elaborated, saying, “The last round will be played on June 7th, allowing the participating clubs to recruit new players, as their registration period with CAF is set between June 1st and June 31st.”
Conversely, Meslouk reiterated the league’s support for clubs participating in both continental competitions (CAF and the Champions League), emphasizing that the football authority will, in the future, schedule postponed matches during midweek fixtures.
