Hussein Rahimi could end up representing UAE

Moroccan forward Hussein Rahimi has become a major talking point in the United Arab Emirates over the past few days, with his impressive performances for Al Ain FC sparking widespread debate about his international future.

Across social media platforms, Emirati fans have been actively calling on the UAE Football Association to consider naturalising Rahimi so he can represent the national team.

The discussion quickly gained traction online, with a trending hashtag pushing for a change in the player’s sporting nationality.

The growing attention reflects the strong impact Rahimi has made in the UAE league this season, where his performances have drawn admiration from supporters and observers alike.

Analysts Downplay Immediate Possibility

Despite the rising speculation, Moroccan sports analysts have dismissed the likelihood of any immediate move. Speaking on Radio Mars, analysts Zouhair Naim and Ezz El-Din Amara stressed that such a scenario is not currently realistic.

They argued that Rahimi is still at an early stage of his career and that discussions around naturalisation are premature at this point.

Praise for Mental Strength and Development

Zouhair Naim also highlighted the striker’s strong mentality and rapid growth, pointing to his response after missing a penalty against AS FAR before his move to Al Ain. According to him, Rahimi showed maturity and resilience in bouncing back from that setback.

Match-Winning Heroics Boost Reputation

Rahimi further boosted his reputation last Friday when he came off the bench in the 78th minute to replace Togolese striker Kodjo Laba and went on to score a dramatic late winner in Al Ain’s 3-2 victory over Shabab Al Ahli in the UAE Pro League.

His 87th-minute strike not only sealed a crucial win but also strengthened Al Ain’s position at the top of the table, extending their lead over Shabab Al Ahli to four points.

Growing Influence and Future Uncertainty

As Rahimi continues to shine in the UAE league, conversations around his future are likely to persist. For now, however, analysts insist that any talk of national team naturalisation remains premature, even as his rising influence keeps him firmly in the spotlight.
