Diafra Sakho Shines Bright: Named Premier League Player of the Month for October
Senegalese striker Diafra Sakho is rapidly making a name for himself in English football. Having joined West Ham United this season, the 24-year-old forward has been rewarded for his outstanding performances by being named Barclays Premier League Player of the Month for October 2014.
In just three matches, Sakho netted three goals and provided one assist, becoming a key figure in West Ham’s attacking force. His consistent performances have not only earned him individual recognition but also helped elevate the Hammers in the league standings. As a result, he is now ranked fifth among the league’s top scorers.
Sakho’s manager, Sam Allardyce, also received plaudits, being named Premier League Manager of the Month, marking a double triumph for the London club.
Adding to the good news, Sakho has received his first official call-up to the Senegal national team, selected to feature in the crucial final matches of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt and Botswana.
“Congratulations to @whufc_official’s @iamdiafrasakho and Sam Allardyce, your #BPL Player and Manager of the Month.”
