Vincent Kompany, the Belgian international of Congolese origin and captain of Manchester City, made his comeback in the squad after recovering from a groin injury sustained on October 5 against Everton. His return was announced by Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini. Although included in the squad for the match against West Bromwich Albion, it remained uncertain whether Kompany would start the game.
