Barcelona has reportedly withdrawn from pursuing Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, increasing the likelihood of a Premier League move for the Spanish international.
The 22-year-old, a standout during Spain’s victorious Euro 2024 campaign, was a priority target for Barcelona, who were prepared to meet his €58 million release clause despite financial constraints.
Williams, however, chose to remain at Athletic Bilbao to focus on the 2025 Europa League final at San Mamés.
Now, Premier League sides Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham are said to be monitoring Williams, with Bayern Munich also expressing interest.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea may seek left-wing reinforcements, with Mikel Arteta’s interest well-documented and Chelsea potentially looking to replace Mykhailo Mudryk next summer.
Williams is expected to be a major figure in the 2025 transfer market as clubs across Europe vie for his signature.
