Premier League and Saudi clubs in battle to sign Senegal defender Malang Sarr

Senegal defender Malang Sarr has attracted interest from Premier League and Saudi clubs since reviving his career.

After a torrid spell at Chelsea, Sarr joined Lens and has since rediscovered his form.

The 26-year-old initially served as a squad option before establishing himself this season as a key figure in the heart of Pierre Sage’s back three.

He has made 31 appearances in all competitions for Les Sang et Or during the campaign.

His current deal runs until the end of the season, although Lens hold an option to extend it by a further year. However, keeping hold of the defender may prove challenging amid growing interest from abroad.

According to reports, Sarr is attracting attention from several “big” Premier League clubs, while Saudi Arabian sides are also monitoring his situation.

Lens are still pushing to secure an extension, but the defender is understood to be weighing up his next move as talks over his future continue.
