Al Nassr manager Ange Postecoglou has changed his side’s formation and left goalkeeper Bento out of the starting line-up for Tuesday’s AFC Champions League Elite opener against Al Ain.
The Australian has selected a 3-4-3 system, moving away from the 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 formations used in most of Al Nassr’s previous matches.
Postecoglou, the former Tottenham manager, has also chosen Nawaf Al-Aqidi to start in goal instead of Bento. The change follows a series of errors by the Brazilian goalkeeper and concerns over his inconsistent form.
Al Nassr will be looking to respond after being held to a 1-1 draw by Al Khaleej in their previous match. Cristiano Ronaldo and his team-mates were unable to produce the required performance in that game.
The confirmed Al Nassr line-up is:
Goalkeeper: Nawaf Al-Aqidi
Defenders: Inigo Martinez, Abdulelah Al-Amri, Mohamed Simakan
Midfielders: Nawaf Boushal, Samu Costa, Abdullah Al-Khaibari, Saad Al-Nasser
Forwards: Joao Felix, Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane
