Jose Peseiro has expressed gratitude to Zamalek after parting ways with the club, saying it was an honour to be part of their journey.
Despite the early exit, the Portuguese coach shared his pride in leading the team to the Egyptian Cup final and praised the club’s supporters.
Zamalek recently confirmed the mutual termination of Peseiro’s contract following a string of disappointing results. The club has named Egyptian coach Ayman El-Ramady as interim boss until the season ends.
Peseiro addressed fans through a Facebook post on Saturday, thanking Zamalek for the opportunity and the memories.
“Thank you, Zamalek. A chapter ends in which it has been an honour to represent this historic and passionate club, with an extraordinary fan base,” he wrote.
“We leave with pride the journey we have been on together, with special mention to reaching the final of the Egyptian Cup – a match we were confident of winning, although circumstances did not allow it.”
The coach also extended appreciation to players, staff, and the board, wishing the club continued success and expressing deep respect.
