Pogon Szczecin consider move for German-Nigerian defender Isaiah Eichie
German-Nigerian right-back Isaiah Eichie, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Polish side Pogon Szczecin.
The reported interest comes with Pogon competing in the Ekstraklasa, while Eichie is available after leaving Leverkusen’s under-19 team on 1 July 2026. The 18-year-old has not been attached to another club since that departure.
Eichie joined Leverkusen’s under-19 side from their under-17 team in July 2024, following his development within the German club’s youth structure. His recorded youth statistics include 19 appearances and two assists in the U19 Nachwuchsliga – Liga A.
He has also featured in several other youth competitions during his time at Leverkusen, including the UEFA Youth League and the DFB-Pokal der Junioren. In the latter competition, he scored once in two appearances.
The defender’s experience has so far been limited to youth football, with his playing record covering under-17 and under-19 competitions. He has represented both Germany and Nigeria by nationality, although no senior international involvement is recorded.
A move to Pogon would represent the next step in Eichie’s career after his exit from Leverkusen’s youth set-up. The rumour was reported on 7 September, with the player’s current status listed as without a club.
