Pitso Mosimane makes three changes to South Africa starting XI for Guinea qualifier

Pitso Mosimane has made three changes to South Africa’s starting lineup for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea at Orlando Stadium.

Olwethu Makhanya, Kamogelo Sebelebele and Iqraam Rayners have been brought into the team, replacing Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Khuliso Mudau and Evidence Makgopa.

Mosimane has otherwise stayed close to the side selected by Hugo Broos for South Africa’s most recent match, their 2026 Fifa World Cup fixture against Canada in Los Angeles.

Ronwen Williams retains his place in goal and continues as captain. The goalkeeper is supported in defence by Aubrey Modiba, Kamogelo Sebelebele, Olwethu Makhanya and Okon.

Teboho Mokoena and Sphephelo Sithole have been chosen as the two defensive midfielders.

Further forward, Oswin Appollis, Thapelo Maseko and Relebohile Mofokeng will provide the attacking support, with Iqraam Rayners selected as the main striker.

Rayners starts ahead of Cassius Mailula, Yanela Mbuthuma and Luther Singh as Mosimane looks to strengthen South Africa’s threat in front of goal.

Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Khuliso Mudau and Evidence Makgopa are unavailable for various reasons.
