Pitso Mosimane makes special return to former club Al Ahly
Former Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane made a special return to the Egyptian club on Thursday when he visited the team’s residence ahead of South Africa’s friendly against Egypt.
Mosimane, who is now in charge of the South African national team, visited his former club ahead of Sunday’s preparatory match between the two countries.
The South African coach was warmly welcomed as he revisited the club where he enjoyed a highly successful spell.
Mosimane recalls Al Ahly memories
Mosimane guided Al Ahly to several major honours during his time with the Egyptian giants, including the African Champions League.
His visit provided an opportunity to reconnect with the club and recall memories from his successful period in charge.
The former coach also met Al Ahly officials during the visit, with the atmosphere reflecting the strong relationship he continues to have with the club.
Al Ahly and South Africa exchange gifts
At the end of the visit, Al Ahly officials Tarek Kandil and Sayed Abdel Hafeez presented Mosimane and his companions with a club shield and an Al Ahly jersey.
Mosimane responded by presenting Kandil and Abdel Hafeez with a South Africa national team jersey.
The exchange highlighted the close ties between Mosimane and the Egyptian club, where he remains a popular figure following his success during his tenure.
