Orlando Pirates and Durban City have announced their starting line-ups for their Betway Premiership meeting at the Orlando Amstel Arena this evening.
Pirates return to league action 17 days after a 4-0 victory over newly promoted Kruger United in Nelspruit. The Buccaneers have since advanced to the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, beating Mauritius club La Cure Waves 3-1 on aggregate.
The reigning Betway Premiership champions are second in the table, seven points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, although they have played three fewer matches. Pirates have scored 12 goals in the league this season and conceded only once.
Durban City also arrive after continental action. They travelled to Burundi and eliminated Rukinzo FC from the CAF Confederation Cup with a 3-1 aggregate win, extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to six matches.
Their last league fixture also came 17 days ago, when they drew 0-0 with Stellenbosch FC.
Khalil Ben Youssef’s team sit ninth with six points from five games. They have won once, drawn three times and suffered one defeat.
The two clubs have met twice previously in the league. Pirates won one of those matches, while the other ended in a goalless draw.
