Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has admitted he would have enjoyed being part of Olympique Marseille’s squad this season under Roberto De Zerbi’s guidance.
The revelation came during an interaction on social media, where the 35-year-old striker reflected on his brief stint at the French club.
Responding to a fan’s question about whether he still thought of OM, Aubameyang affirmed he hadn’t forgotten the club. When another fan asked if he would have enjoyed staying, he confessed he would have, though personal reasons led him to choose a different path.
Since departing Marseille, Aubameyang has been making his mark at Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia, scoring seven goals in 13 matches this season. However, his social media interaction hinted at a lingering connection with OM and what might have been had he stayed with the Ligue 1 outfit.
While Aubameyang’s career continues to flourish in the Middle East, his comments have sparked curiosity among fans, leaving them wondering if a return to European football could ever be on the cards.
