Pierre Ekwah returns to training group at AS Saint-Etienne
AS Saint-Etienne held its first public training session of the 2026-27 season on Thursday morning, giving supporters an early look at Ian Cathro’s team at the Robert-Herbin Sports Centre in L’Etrat.
A sizeable crowd filled the Aime-Jacquet Stadium stand for a relaxed one-hour workout. The players worked mainly on tennis-ball exercises, with music playing across the training pitch and creating an upbeat atmosphere.
Pierre Ekwah was present and trained with his teammates, providing a welcome sight for supporters. However, several players were missing, including Gautier Larsonneur, Mickael Nade, Maxime Miladinovic, Aïmen Moueffek, Jaber, Annan, Old, N’Guessan and El Jamali.
Chico Lamba, Marten-Chris Paalberg and Paul Eymard arrived shortly after the main group and completed individual sessions instead. The collective workout featured Bernauer, Le Cardinal, Breum, Cardona, Stassin, Davitashvili, Csongvai, Lavallee, Gadegbeku, Baallal, Pedro, Nair, Ferreira, Ballo, Boakye, Stojkovic, Kasia, Duffus, Ndiaye and Mbambi alongside Ekwah.
The morning ended warmly as the squad joined the fans while Monty’s “Allez les Verts” played. Players signed autographs and posed for photographs, turning a simple training session into a memorable reunion.
