Philip Otele transfer rumour: Al-Fateh link emerges for Basel winger

Nigeria winger Philip Otele is being linked with a move from Basel to Al-Fateh in the Saudi Pro League.

Otele, 27, currently plays for Basel in Switzerland’s Super League and is listed as a left winger. The reported link with Al-Fateh was recorded on 11 August 2026, with the Saudi club named as the potential destination.

The player’s current contract with Basel runs until 30 June 2028, meaning any departure would come before the end of his existing deal rather than through a free transfer. His listed market value is €4m.

The proposed move would take Otele from Swiss domestic football to the Saudi Pro League, where Al-Fateh would become his next club if the rumour develops into an agreement. No transfer fee, negotiation details or completion date have been established.

Otele remains a Basel player, with his contractual commitment to the Swiss club extending for another two seasons.
