Pharco pushes for justice after goalless clash with Al-Ittihad
Pharco FC has raised its voice strongly after feeling let down by refereeing decisions in their draw against Al-Ittihad Alexandria.
The club believes missed calls are beginning to hurt their chances in the Egyptian Premier League and has officially taken the matter to the Egyptian Football Association.
Atef Hanfy, the general supervisor of football at Pharco, confirmed in a television interview that the club will file a complaint against referee Hamada El-Qalawi for what he described as “significant refereeing errors” during the sixth-round game, which ended goalless.
Hanfy pointed out that the team had a clear penalty kick for Mohamed Fakhry that was ignored, while VAR was not used despite the incident being obvious. The decision, he said, left the players and staff frustrated.
“We will not remain silent about our rights. What is happening affects the team’s results in the league. These mistakes are repeated and cost us valuable points.”
Hanfy recalled similar frustration from last season and urged the association to step in, saying fairness is vital in such a competitive campaign.
