FC Magdeburg sporting director Otmar Schork is confident that new signing Patric Pfeiffer will adapt quickly and make an immediate impact following his loan move from FC Augsburg.
The 25-year-old Ghanaian defender joins Magdeburg for the remainder of the season after a challenging spell at Swiss side BSC Young Boys, where he struggled for game time in the first half of the campaign.
Pfeiffer, who signed with Augsburg last summer, is expected to bolster Magdeburg’s defense as they push for a strong finish in the 2. Bundesliga.
“Following Andi Hoti’s departure, we saw the need to strengthen our central defense. With Patric, we are getting a player with significant second-division experience who can immediately help us,” Schork said.
Pfeiffer previously played a key role in SV Darmstadt 98’s promotion to the Bundesliga before moving to Augsburg.
Magdeburg head coach Christian Titz, who coached Pfeiffer in Hamburg’s youth system, also backed the defender to deliver, describing him as a complete player with strong physical attributes.
