Petrojet confirms Hamed Hamdan’s transfer options and explains club stance
Petrojet’s football supervisor, Mohamed Ayman, revealed new details about the race to sign their midfielder Hamed Hamdan ahead of the winter transfer window.
While previous rumors linked Hamdan with a determined move to Zamalek, Ayman clarified that during the last transfer window, Zamalek was the only club to submit an offer, giving the player little choice at the time. However, things have now changed, with more clubs, both domestic and foreign, approaching for the talented Palestinian.
Ayman stated, “We will not stand in the way of Hamdan’s preferred move, but the offer must benefit Petrojet.” Currently, there’s no official bid from Al Ahly, though Ayman confirmed indirect interest and that talks had begun with Hamdan’s agent. Meanwhile, negotiations with Zamalek have stalled since the summer.
Petrojet has a prior agreement with Zamalek to complete Hamdan’s transfer in January, but if Zamalek delays and Al Ahly makes an official offer, the club may seek the maximum benefit from any potential deal. Additionally, Pyramids and National Bank are said to have inquired about the player, and there’s news of a Qatari offer, but Hamdan’s preference remains to play for one of Egypt’s top clubs.
With Zamalek facing financial problems and terms for Hamdan’s transfer previously set at 25 million pounds, the competition is heating up. Clubs will begin formal negotiations with Petrojet next month to secure the signing of the highly sought-after midfielder.
