Peter Shalulile: Namibia striker linked with move to Egypt’s Pyramids FC

Namibia and South Africa international Peter Shalulile, currently a free agent after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns, is being linked with a move to Egyptian Premier League side Pyramids FC.

The 32-year-old centre-forward, who most recently led the line for Sundowns, became available on 1 July 2026 and is understood to be attracting interest from Cairo as Pyramids look to reinforce their attack. Shalulile is valued at around €1m and any deal would be a free transfer, reducing the financial outlay for the Egyptian club to wages and bonuses.

Shalulile departs South African football as one of the most prolific forwards of the past decade, with 92 goals and 23 assists in 201 Betway Premiership appearances. He was a key figure in Sundowns’ dominance, helping them to five consecutive league titles from 2020/21 to 2024/25. On the continental stage, he added a CAF Champions League winners’ medal in the 2025/26 campaign.

His record in Africa’s elite competition – 20 goals in 55 CAF Champions League appearances – and his role in Sundowns’ African Football League triumph in 2023/24 are seen as major attractions for Pyramids as they seek proven experience in both domestic and continental competition. Shalulile has also collected multiple individual honours, including four top scorer awards across league and CAF competition and recognition as player of the season in South Africa in 2022.

For now, Shalulile remains without a club, weighing up his next move after more than a decade in southern African football, with Pyramids FC emerging as a leading contender for his signature.
