Persikad sign Ivorian defender Habib Omar Fofana on free transfer

Ivorian centre-back Habib Omar Fofana has joined Indonesian club Persikad on a free transfer from Real Kashmir.

The 27-year-old defender completed the move on 28 August 2026, ending his time with the Indian Football League side after joining them earlier in the year. No transfer fee was involved.

Fofana, who stands 1.92m tall and prefers his left foot, adds experience in central defence to Persikad’s squad. The move takes him into Indonesia’s Championship, following spells across clubs in India, Iraq, Belarus and Moldova.

He arrived at Real Kashmir as a free agent on 18 February 2026. Before that, Fofana had been without a club after leaving Iraq’s Naft Al-Basra in August 2025.

His career has included 22 appearances in the Iraq Stars League and a further 22 in Belarus’ Vysheyshaya Liga. He also made 10 appearances in Serbia’s Super Liga, where he recorded one assist, while his record in the Indian Football League and its relegation stage stands at 10 appearances.

Fofana’s earlier career included moves to Naft Al-Basra from Diyala in January 2025 and to Diyala from Al-Mina’a SC in July 2024. He joined Al-Mina’a SC from Belarusian club Belshina in January 2024, having previously moved to Belshina from Moldova’s Dinamo-Auto on a free transfer.

The defender began that sequence of overseas moves by joining Dinamo-Auto from Entente II in July 2022, also without a fee. His market value was recorded at €75,000 when he moved to Persikad.

Fofana’s arrival continues a career spent moving between several leagues, with his latest switch taking him from India to Indonesia. Persikad have now secured the services of the left-footed defender on a free transfer.
