Perez seeks clarity from Kylian Mbappe in face to face meeting
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly preparing to sit down with Kylian Mbappe to address the growing uncertainty around the forward’s future and the mood in the dressing room.
According to Diario AS, the club always intended to speak directly with Mbappe before he fully turns his attention to the World Cup, but recent events have made that meeting more urgent.
Madrid want to be clear on Mbappe’s plans for next season, and while the Frenchman has indicated he is happy at the club, his recent exchange with Alvaro Arbeloa after the win over Oviedo has only intensified the noise around him. Inside the club, there is increasing concern about some of his gestures and behaviour, with a few teammates struggling to read him. The hierarchy still view him as a key figure, yet they remain firm that no player is bigger than Real Madrid.
The situation feeds into a wider effort to restore order and control in what is described as a fractured dressing room, a task expected to fall to the next coach, likely Jose Mourinho. Perez’s position is firm: the club will always come first, even if that means taking tough decisions to reset standards and protect Real Madrid’s identity.
