Penalties imposed on several football figures following Nile League incident

A series of suspensions have been announced by the Disciplinary Committee in the wake of the Al-Ahly and Pyramids match in the Nile League last season, which saw Al-Ahly emerge victorious 1-0. The penalties, revealed by media professional Hani Hathoot, have caused a stir among football fans.

Marawan Hamdi of Pyramids FC has been suspended for six months and fined for insulting Al-Ahly supporters.

Imam Ashour of Zamalek faces a four-match suspension due to his involvement in urging Al-Ahly’s Hussein El-Shahat not to shake hands with Al-Sheeb.

Additionally, Mohamed El-Sheeb was handed a two-match suspension for inciting fans, and Khaled Abdel Fattah of Pyramids was also suspended for two matches for failing to leave the stadium after being sent off.

Zamalek coach Gomez has been hit with a six-match suspension and a fine after he was found guilty of pushing the referee during the match between Zamalek and Al-Masry last season.

In other Nile League news, Zamalek secured a dominant 4-0 win over Ghazl El Mahalla in their fourth-round clash.

This result lifted Zamalek to second place in the league standings with 9 points, while Ghazl El Mahalla remained in 13th position with 4 points.
