Pedro Sanchez, the Spanish Prime Minister, affirmed today in Rabat that the joint organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup reflects a tangible model of the quality of Moroccan-Spanish relations and the shared determination to advance the bilateral roadmap adopted in 2022.
During a press conference at the conclusion of his working visit to the kingdom, Sanchez stated, “Hosting the FIFA World Cup undoubtedly represents an exceptional challenge, but above all, an opportunity to further strengthen the foundations of friendship between Morocco and Spain, as well as Portugal.”
He noted that this global sporting event would enable the organizing countries to “send a very positive message to the entire world about cooperation, good organization, and fraternity.”
In this regard, the Spanish Prime Minister emphasized the importance of convening a forum bringing together Moroccan and Spanish companies “to explore the potential for cooperation and investment in realizing this magnificent project,” particularly in terms of infrastructure.
Sanchez, who begins a new term as the head of the Spanish government, reiterated that “the FIFA World Cup 2030 crowns an exceptional collaboration between the two countries.”
