Paulos Abraham: Hammarby forward linked with Angers move

Swedish-Eritrean forward Paulos Abraham is being linked with a move from Hammarby to French top-flight club Angers SCO.

The 24-year-old centre-forward has scored eight goals and provided three assists in 15 Allsvenskan appearances for Hammarby this season.

Abraham joined Hammarby from Dutch club FC Groningen in January 2025 in a deal worth €1.3m. He has since established himself as a regular in the Swedish side’s attack, making 15 league appearances this campaign and starting 93% of the possible matches.

He has also featured twice in Europa League qualifying this season, scoring once and starting both matches.

The reported interest from Angers would represent a return to a major European league for Abraham, who spent the first part of his professional career with Groningen after moving from Swedish club AIK in 2021. He also had a loan spell with IFK Goteborg during the 2023-24 season before returning to Groningen.

Abraham remains under contract at Hammarby until 31 December 2028, meaning any move would require an agreement between the clubs. His current market value is listed at €1.7m, below the highest valuation recorded during his career.

No transfer has been confirmed, and Abraham remains a Hammarby player while the reported link with Angers develops.
