Fenerbahçe are reported to be weighing up a move for Trabzonspor centre-forward Paul Onuachu in a deal that could see the Nigerian become a free agent before switching Süper Lig clubs.
The 31-year-old, valued at €6.00m on Transfermarkt, is being linked with an internal league move from Trabzonspor to Fenerbahçe, with the probability of the transfer currently listed as “?” as talks and interest remain at rumour stage. Onuachu’s contract details at Trabzonspor have not been made public, and the absence of an end date has fuelled suggestions in Turkey that he could be available if his deal has expired or is allowed to run down, leaving the door open to a potential free-agent switch.
Onuachu, born in Lagos on 28 May 1994, is a towering 2.01m right-footed centre-forward and wears the number 30 shirt at Trabzonspor. A Nigeria international and long regarded as a classic penalty-box striker, he has built a reputation in Europe for his aerial presence and finishing, attributes that would appeal to a Fenerbahçe side regularly competing at the top end of the Süper Lig.
The former Genk and Southampton forward has spent this season leading the line in Turkey’s top flight, most recently featuring for Trabzonspor in the Süper Lig in early May 2026, when he started in a narrow home defeat against a top-half opponent, playing the full 90 minutes and providing a focal point in a 1-0 loss. His performances in such games continue to keep him on the radar of domestic rivals.
With his market value relatively modest for a proven top-flight striker, and uncertainty around his contract status at Trabzonspor, any move to Fenerbahçe – whether for a fee or as a free agent – would represent a significant next step and could reshape the later years of his career in Turkey’s highest-profile title race.
