Paul Onuachu: Al-Hilal linked with move for Trabzonspors Nigeria striker
Nigeria forward Paul Onuachu of Trabzonspor is being linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
The 32-year-old centre-forward, who is valued at 6m, currently plays in the Turkish Super Lig for Trabzonspor, where he wears the No 30 shirt. A switch to Al-Hilal would take him into one of the highest-profile leagues in Asian football as Saudi clubs continue to target established names from Europe.
Onuachu, a 2.01m right-footed striker born in Lagos, has built a reputation as a traditional central attacker, offering a physical presence at the top end of the pitch. His profile fits the Saudi champions recent focus on adding experienced forwards capable of making an immediate impact.
The Nigerian returned to Trabzonspor permanently from Southampton in July 2025, having previously spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan with the Turkish club before going back to England at the end of that season. His performances in Turkey helped sustain a market value that has remained at around 6m into 2026.
Before his move to the Premier League, Onuachu was a prolific figure for KRC Genk in Belgiums top flight, joining them from FC Midtjylland in 2019 after several seasons in Denmark. His time in Belgium saw his market valuation peak at 22m in 2021, underlining the level he has previously reached in European competition.
There is no indication that an agreement is in place between Trabzonspor and Al-Hilal, and discussions over a potential transfer remain at the rumour stage.
