Patrick Dorgu uses gaming to stay positive during injury layoff
Patrick Dorgu has shared how turning to gaming is helping him get through a challenging spell on the sidelines at Manchester United.
The 21-year-old defender is currently recovering from injury and says finding ways to switch off mentally has become a crucial part of his routine.
“It’s important, especially now with the injury. It’s good to switch off,” Dorgu explained, stressing that constantly thinking about rehab and football can be draining. For him, gaming offers a welcome escape from the pressures of recovery and the demands of life at a top club.
He admitted he spends a lot of time on some of the most popular titles. “I’m into gaming, Call of Duty, NBA 2K, Fortnite. I play all of them,” he said, revealing how these sessions help him relax and reset between training and treatment.
Dorgu believes keeping a healthy balance between football and personal interests is key to staying in a good place mentally. As he works towards his return to action, those moments with a controller in hand are proving just as valuable as the hours spent in the gym and on the training pitch.
