Patrick Dorgu says handling pressure is part of the job at Manchester United, and he’s learning fast.
Since joining from Lecce in February, the 20-year-old has already made 19 appearances for the Red Devils and is quickly adapting to life under the spotlight.
“It’s obviously different [at Manchester United] because the fanbase is so massive. A lot of people talk! Everyone is talking about United,” he said. “It is difficult for young players but I think if you have the right mentality I think everyone can cope with it and it’s about performing on the pitch.”
Dorgu’s rise has been swift. On 26 February 2025, he made his first Premier League start at Old Trafford against Ipswich Town—a proud moment for the young defender. Born in Denmark with Nigerian roots, Dorgu has represented Denmark up to the U-21 level and received his first senior call-up in September 2024 for Nations League clashes with Switzerland and Serbia.
The pressure may be loud at United, but Dorgu is quietly building something special.
