Patrice Neveu is expected to sign a contract with the Congo national football team in the coming days. The French coach, who is currently in charge of Mauritania, will fill the vacant coaching position left by Kamel Djabbour. Neveu was among the shortlist of four coaches revealed by the Congolese Football Federation (Fecofoot), competing against Denis Lavagne, Pierre Lechantre, and Henri Depireux. Ultimately, Neveu was chosen for the role. Known for his coaching achievements, Neveu recently guided Mauritania to qualify for its first final phase of an African competition, the CHAN 2014, scheduled for January.
