Paris Saint-Germain secure Zion Suzuki deal as Juventus emerge as loan option

Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement with Parma to sign Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki during the current summer transfer window, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano announced the news on his account on X, writing: “Paris Saint-Germain reach agreement with Parma to sign Zion Suzuki.. Deal done.”

The overall value of the agreement is €35m, with Paris Saint-Germain viewing the 23-year-old goalkeeper as a signing for the future. Suzuki will move to the French club from Parma after the two sides concluded negotiations over the transfer.

Romano added: “Japanese goalkeeper joins for the future in a deal worth €35m total package.”

Despite completing the deal, Paris Saint-Germain are considering sending Suzuki out on loan so he can play regularly. Juventus are currently regarded as the leading candidates to take the goalkeeper on a temporary basis, with the Italian club expected to make a decision soon.

“Paris Saint-Germain are considering loaning Suzuki out to play regularly, Juventus will make a decision soon as the top candidates to sign him,” Romano wrote.

The proposed loan would give Suzuki the opportunity to continue developing through regular first-team football, while Paris Saint-Germain would retain control of a player they regard as a long-term investment. The French club have therefore secured the agreement for his transfer before determining the next stage of his career.

Suzuki’s move is one of the notable deals to have been concluded from Serie A during the summer market. Parma will receive a total package of €35m for the goalkeeper, while Paris Saint-Germain now face a decision over whether he should remain with the squad or spend the coming season elsewhere.

Juventus are the prominent option under consideration for that loan move. Their position is expected to become clearer shortly, according to Romano, as the Italian club weighs whether to bring Suzuki in and provide him with the regular playing time Paris Saint-Germain believe would benefit his development.

The agreement means the main transfer negotiations between Paris Saint-Germain and Parma have been settled. The remaining issue is how Suzuki will begin his time with the French club, with a temporary move to Juventus identified as a possibility rather than a confirmed outcome.

Romano concluded his update by stating that the deal had been completed and that Suzuki would join Paris Saint-Germain for the future. The €35m agreement represents the full value of the package, while Juventus remain the leading contenders should the French club decide to arrange a loan.
