Paris Saint-Germain named world’s best team by France Football for second successive year

Paris Saint-Germain have been named the world’s best team for 2026 by France Football, retaining the award after completing a domestic and European double.

The French club won both Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League, securing the honour for a second consecutive year.

Ousmane Dembele, who was named the world’s best player for the previous year, accepted the award on behalf of Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain are only the second club to win the team award in successive years. Manchester City achieved the same feat in 2022 and 2023.

The award was introduced in 2021 and has now been won by Manchester City twice, alongside Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Paris Saint-Germain retained the UEFA Champions League title for a second successive season after beating Arsenal on penalties.

They also claimed the Ligue 1 title following a fiercely contested campaign against Lens.
