Paris Saint-Germain close in on Ferran Torres deal with Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a final formal offer for Barcelona forward Ferran Torres, with negotiations between the two clubs understood to have moved significantly closer to an agreement.

Torres has reached an agreement with the French club in recent days, according to the report, leaving only the final discussions between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona before the transfer can be completed.

The negotiations are being conducted by Barcelona sporting director Deco and Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Luis Campos. Spanish newspaper Marca says Paris Saint-Germain are now putting together their final official proposal, with the value of the deal expected to be about 50 million euros.

There has been considerable progress in the talks recently, and the transfer could be concluded within the next few days if the two clubs settle the remaining details.

Torres wants to move to Paris Saint-Germain for the coming season, while Barcelona are not opposed to the transfer. The Catalan club’s position reflects the progress made in negotiations and the growing expectation that the deal will be formally agreed.

If an agreement is reached soon, Torres could be allowed to delay his return to Barcelona training while the final arrangements for his move to Paris Saint-Germain are completed.

The 26-year-old played an important role for Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring the winning goal in the 106th minute of the second period of extra time as Spain secured the title.

That goal took Torres’ international tally to 25 in 65 appearances for La Roja.

Torres also finished last season as Barcelona’s leading scorer, scoring 16 goals for the club. His contribution helped Barcelona win La Liga for a second successive season after their title race with Real Madrid.

Barcelona also retained the Spanish Super Cup, defeating Real Madrid 3-2 in the final. It was Torres’ second consecutive Spanish Super Cup triumph.

The proposed move would come as Barcelona prepare to begin the new league campaign against Elche. Their opening La Liga fixture is scheduled to take place at the Manuel Martinez Valero stadium.

For Paris Saint-Germain, the potential signing would represent the latest step in their efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. However, the transfer remains subject to a final agreement between the clubs, with the official offer still being prepared and no completed deal announced at this stage.
