Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique says it is too early to assess the severity of Achraf Hakimi’s injury after the Morocco defender was forced off against Brest on Sunday.
Hakimi appeared to suffer a problem with his right adductor muscle during the Ligue 1 match. He stopped near the touchline to examine the affected area himself before asking to be substituted, leaving the pitch only a few minutes before half-time.
The incident could represent Paris Saint-Germain’s first injury setback of the season and has raised concern at the club with the international break approaching.
Asked about Hakimi’s condition after the match, Luis Enrique offered no further details but said the player would undergo medical examinations.
“Achraf Hakimi? I hope the injury is not serious, but it is difficult to say,” Luis Enrique said, according to Foot Mercato. “He will have a medical examination tomorrow.”
Paris Saint-Germain must now wait for the results of those tests to establish the precise nature of the injury and determine how long the Morocco international could be unavailable.
