Paris Saint-Germain agree €55m deal with Ajax for Mika Godts
Paris Saint-Germain have reached a verbal agreement with Ajax to sign Belgian winger Mika Godts for a fee of €55m including add-ons, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The two clubs have agreed the terms of the proposed transfer, although no official documents have yet been exchanged. The deal remains subject to the next stages of the process before it can be formally completed.
Godts is waiting for permission from Ajax to travel to France, where he will undergo a medical before the move can be officially announced.
The 20-year-old has made 115 appearances for Ajax, scoring 26 goals and providing 28 assists. His arrival would give Paris Saint-Germain another attacking option as they prepare for the new season.
Paris Saint-Germain are also working to complete a deal for Barcelona forward Ferran Torres. The French club are seeking to finalise that transfer as they look to strengthen their attack with both players.
The proposed agreement for Godts would add to a transfer window in which Paris Saint-Germain have already officially completed three signings: Alessandro Longoni, Maghnes Akliouche and Lucas Digne.
Paris Saint-Germain begin the new campaign after winning the previous season’s Ligue 1 title. They will open their league campaign against Rennes on Sunday, 23 August, at the Parc des Princes.
Before that, the club are due to play Lens in the French Super Cup on Sunday. Paris Saint-Germain have already claimed the UEFA Super Cup, beating Aston Villa 2-1.
Godts’ potential move is therefore being negotiated alongside preparations for a demanding start to the season, with Paris Saint-Germain continuing work on both their squad and their remaining transfer business. The Belgian winger’s medical and the exchange of formal documents are the next steps required before the agreement with Ajax becomes an official transfer.
