Paris FC keen on signing French-Malian midfielder N’Golo Kanté to strengthen squad
Paris FC are reportedly interested in pulling off a stunning move for French-Malian midfielder N’Golo Kanté as they look to strengthen their squad, Africasoccer has learned.
The 34-year-old, currently playing for Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, has just a few months left on his contract, which expires at the end of the season.
Negotiations for an extension have yet to begin, leaving room for the newly promoted Ligue 1 side to make their move.
Owned by the Arnaud family, Paris FC view Kanté as a marquee signing who could become the centrepiece of their long-term project to establish a strong second team in the French capital.
It remains uncertain whether the club will pursue a transfer in the January window or wait until the summer, when Kanté could be available on a free transfer.
However, Paris FC are not the only one eyeing the 2018 World Cup winner.
Foot Mercato reports that several other Saudi clubs are also monitoring Kanté’s situation, setting up what could become a competitive race for his signature.
