Newly-promoted French Ligue 1 side Paris FC are closing in on a deal to sign Mali midfielder Amadou Haidara.
The 27-year-old currently plies his trade with Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, but talks between the two clubs are said to be at an advanced stage.
The swift progress in negotiations may be attributed to the shared ownership ties between the two sides, with Red Bull holding stakes in both.
Haidara brings a wealth of experience to the Parisian club, which is preparing for its return to France’s top flight after a 46-year absence.
A two-time Austrian Bundesliga champion with RB Salzburg, Haidara has made over 150 Bundesliga appearances and was part of the Leipzig team that reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in the 2019/20 season.
His arrival would mark yet another significant addition to Stéphane Gilli’s squad, following the signings of Moses Simon (30) and Otávio (23), as Paris FC look to make a strong impression in Ligue 1.
Internationally, Haidara has earned 46 caps for Mali and was a runner-up at the U-17 FIFA World Cup.
He also boasts two German Cup titles with Leipzig and remains under contract with the club until 2026.
