Paris FC are nearing an agreement with Stade de Reims for the signing of 19-year-old left-back Nhoa Sangui, according to reports from L’Équipe, as the Ligue 2 side prepares for its long-awaited return to France’s top flight.
Sangui, who is of Congolese heritage, has emerged as a key transfer target for Paris FC as they aim to bolster their squad ahead of their first Ligue 1 campaign in 46 years.
Born in Creil, northern France, Sangui joined Reims at age 15 and signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2023.
The French youth international enjoyed a breakthrough 2023–24 season, making 26 appearances in Ligue 1.
Known for his pace, composure on the ball, and positional intelligence, Sangui’s versatility across the left flank has made him a standout among his age group.
He has featured for France at every youth level from U16 to U20.
Despite being under contract with Reims until 2027, the teenage defender has drawn interest from several clubs across Europe.
However, Paris FC are reportedly leading the chase and are in advanced negotiations to secure his signature in the coming days.
The club’s interest in Sangui aligns with its strategy to reinforce both flanks of the defence. Paris FC have also been linked with Real Sociedad veteran Hamari Traoré as they seek a blend of youth and experience for their return to the top tier.
Sangui’s potential arrival would be a significant statement of intent from Paris FC, who are keen to build a competitive squad capable of surviving and thriving in Ligue 1.
