Papy Badji scored for the second consecutive match as Smouha defeated El Gouna 2-0 in the seventh round of the Egyptian Premier League.
The Senegalese forward produced the game’s decisive moment in the 82nd minute, finishing with an impressive overhead kick after being set up by Fady Farid.
Badji had also scored in Smouha’s previous match against Ghazl El Mahalla, with his goal securing victory for his side. The latest strike means he has now found the net in successive games.
It is the second time Badji has achieved that feat. Last season, he scored against Haras El Hodoud in the Egypt Cup before repeating the achievement against the same opponents in the Egypt Capital Cup.
Smouha’s victory moved them up to 10 points and seventh place in the league table. It was their third consecutive win under manager Ahmed Abdel Aziz.
El Gouna remain on two points in 19th place, second from bottom.
