FC Oleksandriya have completed the signing of left winger Papa Ndiaga Yade from FC Sheriff Tiraspol, with the transfer registered to start on 2026-02-08. The Mauritania/Senegal international joins the Ukrainian Premier Liga side on a permanent deal, ending his spell in Moldova with Sheriff, where his market value was last recorded at €450,000. Details of the transfer fee remain undisclosed, listed only as “?” in official documents, but the move is confirmed and final rather than a loan or option-based agreement. No contract expiry date has been made public.
The switch takes Yade further abroad in his career, into Ukraine’s top flight, after his most recent stint in the Moldovan Super Liga with Sheriff Tiraspol. At 26 years of age and standing 1.85m tall, he arrives in Oleksandriya as an attacking reinforcement primarily for the left flank, his main position, and brings experience from several European leagues. The transfer also carries implications for his contractual status down the line, with the absence of a listed end date leaving open the possibility that he could eventually become a free agent once his undisclosed term at Oleksandriya concludes.
Yade’s move continues a trajectory that began in Senegal with ASC La Linguère de Saint-Louis before he progressed to AS Académie Génération Foot, a club well known for exporting talent to Europe. From there he made the jump to France, signing for FC Metz in 2019. During his time under contract with Metz, he played in French football while experiencing multiple loan spells: first to ESTAC Troyes in the 2022-23 season and then to Quevilly-Rouen Métropole in 2023-24. Those moves exposed him to Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 environments before he returned to Metz and eventually left France.
In mid-2024, Yade joined Sheriff Tiraspol on a standard transfer, moving into the Moldovan Super Liga. His market value, which had peaked as high as €3 million during his early Metz years, decreased progressively in subsequent seasons, dropping to €450,000 by late 2025 while he was with Sheriff. Despite that decline, Oleksandriya have now stepped in to secure him as a full international-calibre winger with dual Mauritanian and Senegalese nationality, capable of adding penetration on the flank and a left-footed option in the final third.
The transfer also underlines the increasingly international nature of his career. After developing in Senegal and then spending several years in France, Yade’s step to Moldova and now Ukraine positions him firmly as an established expatriate player, with the Premier Liga offering a different tactical and physical challenge from his home football environments. With his confirmed arrival at FC Oleksandriya, attention will now turn to how he adapts to Ukrainian football and whether he can rebuild his market value and form in a new league, potentially setting up future moves or a significant role as a free agent when his time in Oleksandriya eventually comes to an end.
