Panathinaikos secure Anas Zerrouri permanently

Greek giants Panathinaikos have officially completed the permanent signing of Moroccan winger Anas Zerrouri, activating the purchase option in his loan agreement from French club Racing Club de Lens following an impressive season in Athens.

The move comes as a reward for Zerrouri’s consistent performances throughout the 2025/26 campaign, during which he established himself as a key attacking outlet for Panathinaikos across all competitions.

The Moroccan international has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2029, underlining the Greek side’s confidence in his long-term value and development.

Since arriving in the summer of 2025 on loan from Lens, Zerrouri has featured in 46 official matches, contributing eight goals and several decisive attacking displays that helped cement his place in the squad.

His pace, creativity, and ability to unlock defenses made him one of the most improved players in the squad, with Panathinaikos fans quickly embracing him as a reliable presence on the flank.

Speaking after the confirmation of his permanent transfer, Zerrouri expressed strong satisfaction with the decision, describing it as a major step forward in his career. He also outlined his ambition to elevate his performances further and help Panathinaikos compete for domestic and European honors in the coming seasons.

The club’s decision to secure his services long-term reflects both his growing influence and the belief that he can play a central role in their future title ambitions.
