Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali downplays Pyramids FC links

Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali has denied reports linking him with a move to Egyptian outfit Pyramids FC as the summer transfer window approaches.

Abu Ali, currently starring for MLS side Columbus Crew, has been strongly linked with a return to the Egyptian league, with a potential move to Pyramids FC gathering space, despite his impressive start to life in the United States.

The enterprising forward has quickly made his mark at Columbus Crew, delivering standout performances that have only heightened interest in his services.

Amid Pyramids links, the enterprising attacker has swiftly downplayed such reports, stressing he will only join Al Ahly if he is to return to Egypt.

“Wissam Abu Ali informed Al Ahly that if he returns to Egypt, it will be to Al Ahly and not to any other club.” he said.

Abu Ali only left Al Ahly last August in a record transfer reportedly worth $7.5 million, completing a high-profile move to Columbus Crew. The deal marked one of the most lucrative outgoing transfers in the club’s history.

Since arriving in MLS, the Palestinian international has wasted no time making an impact. He has featured in six matches for Columbus Crew, scoring four goals and underlining why he remains highly regarded in Egyptian football circles.

While his immediate future appears firmly rooted in the United States, Abu Ali’s message makes one thing clear, should he return to Egypt, it will only be in the famous red shirt of Al Ahly.
