Paide sign Gambian striker Dawda Darboe from Fortune FC
Gambia centre-forward Dawda Darboe has joined Estonian club Paide from Fortune FC, completing a move that takes the 22-year-old into the Premium Liiga.
Darboe signed for Paide on 21 August 2026 and has agreed a contract running until 31 December 2028. The transfer follows his return to Fortune FC after a loan spell with FC ViOn, where he spent part of the 2025-26 season.
The striker joined FC ViOn on loan from Fortune on 9 February 2026. That spell ended on 23 July, when he moved back to Fortune before switching to Paide less than a month later.
Darboe had previously joined Fortune from fellow Gambian club Wallidan on 9 November 2024. He began his recorded senior career with Wallidan in 2023, before moving on to Fortune and subsequently gaining experience outside The Gambia with FC ViOn.
The Gambian forward has played primarily as a centre-forward and is listed as right-footed. His recent playing record includes two goals in seven II. Liga appearances, with 240 minutes on the pitch, as well as a 30-minute appearance in the Reserveligaen Spring competition.
Born in Jambanjelly on 10 February 2004, Darboe stands 1.70 metres tall and represents The Gambia in terms of nationality. His move to Paide marks the latest step in a career that has taken him from Wallidan to Fortune, a loan spell with FC ViOn and now the Estonian top-flight club.
Paide have secured Darboe’s services through the end of 2028, with the completed transfer taking effect on 21 August 2026.
