Oyinlola Kayode: Nigerian winger joins Babrungas on free transfer from Kauno Zalgiris

Nigerian winger Oyinlola Kayode has joined Lithuanian side Babrungas on a free transfer from Kauno Zalgiris.

The 23-year-old right winger, who favours his left foot, makes the switch after spending the last few seasons in Lithuanias top flight and second tier. The move keeps him in the country but sees him drop from the Toplyga to I Lyga in search of greater opportunities for game time.

Kayode arrives at Babrungas with recent experience across league and cup competitions. In the current campaign he has featured in both the Toplyga and I Lyga, as well as the Lithuanian Cup, accumulating over 900 minutes in all competitions. He has also been involved in a Lithuanian Supercup-winning squad, lifting the trophy with Kauno Zalgiris in 2026.

The Lagos-born attacker first moved to Lithuania in 2021 when he left Box2Box FC for Kauno Zalgiris. After an initial spell there, he spent part of the 2022-23 season on loan at Suduva before returning to Kauno Zalgiris at the end of that campaign.

Standing at 1.73m, Kayode is primarily used on the right flank, offering width and direct running from wide areas. His versatility in having played in both divisions of Lithuanian football adds further depth to Babrungas attacking options.

Kayodes transfer to Babrungas, completed as a free move on 10 July 2026, sees him continue his career in Lithuania with a permanent switch away from Kauno Zalgiris.
