Oxford United linked with Viborg winger Sami Jalal
Danish-Tunisian winger Sami Jalal is being linked with a move from Viborg FF to Oxford United.
The 21-year-old left winger has made one Superliga appearance for Viborg this season, registering no goals or assists. He has not started that match and has played 37% of the club’s available league minutes.
Jalal joined Viborg from Kolding IF on 22 July 2025 in a €600,000 transfer. He had previously moved to Kolding from FA 2000 on a free transfer after developing with the Copenhagen-based club’s under-19 side.
The proposed destination is Oxford United, who are listed as a League One club in the rumour. Jalal is valued at €1.5m, although there is no indication that a fee has been agreed or that negotiations have reached an advanced stage.
Viborg signed Jalal less than a year ago and have him under contract until 30 June 2031. That long-term agreement means the Danish club retain his registration and places any potential move within the context of a deal that still has several years to run.
Jalal was born in Frederiksberg and holds Danish and Tunisian nationality. His current role at Viborg has so far been limited, with his only league appearance this season coming from the substitutes’ bench.
