Oussama Haddadi Extends Stay with Club Africain Until 2017
Tunisian defender Oussama Haddadi has signed a new two-year contract extension with Club Africain, committing his future to the Tunis-based side until June 2017.
The 22-year-old left-back, whose current deal was set to expire in June 2015, has opted to remain with the club where he began his professional career, despite increased competition following the arrival of experienced full-back Yassine Mikari.
In a statement published on its official website, Club Africain confirmed the agreement, which will see Haddadi continue to hold down the left flank of the team’s defence.
A product of Club Africain’s youth academy, Haddadi made the leap to the senior team in September 2009 and has since developed into a key figure in the squad. Known for his pace, defensive awareness and ability to support the attack, he has become a reliable presence on the pitch.
A former captain of Tunisia’s under-20 national team, Haddadi is widely regarded as one of the country’s most promising defensive talents. His contract renewal is seen as a sign of continuity and faith in homegrown players at a club that has long prided itself on nurturing local talent.
Club Africain, one of Tunisia’s most historic and popular football institutions, has been working to bolster its squad depth ahead of the upcoming season. The competition between Haddadi and Mikari is expected to provide coach Daniel Sanchez with valuable options and tactical flexibility on the left side of defence.
By securing Haddadi’s services for another two seasons, Club Africain not only retains a committed performer but also demonstrates its intent to blend youth and experience as it continues to compete for domestic and continental honours.
The club’s supporters will now look forward to seeing Haddadi continue his development and contribute to what they hope will be a successful campaign.
