Ousmane Konate: Senegal defender joins Sardarapat after spell without club

Senegal centre-back Ousmane Konate has joined Armenian side Sardarapat, ending his spell without a club with a move to the Premier League outfit.

The 21-year-old, who stands at 1.87m and favours his left foot, has signed for Sardarapat after being unattached, offering the club a new defensive option at the heart of their back line. The transfer was completed on 29 July 2026.

Konate, born on 15 March 2005, arrives at a key stage in his career, with Sardarapat moving to secure a young central defender with senior experience. His ability to operate as a left-footed centre-back gives the Armenian side an additional profile in a position where balance and distribution are increasingly important.

The Senegalese defender will now look to establish himself in the Armenian Premier League, having taken the opportunity to relaunch his career with Sardarapat following his period without a club.

Konate’s move is registered as a permanent signing, and he is now officially part of the Sardarapat squad.
