Ousmane Dembele PSG contract extension imminent amid transfer speculation

Ousmane Dembele’s future at Paris Saint-Germain remains a hot topic, with talks progressing toward a contract extension despite earlier salary disputes.

The French international, currently under deal until June 2028, is reportedly close to signing a two-year extension with the club.

Negotiations had stalled due to Dembele’s wage demands, but recent developments suggest both parties are moving toward agreement. Former France striker Christophe Dugarry believes staying at PSG suits the 29-year-old Ballon d’Or 2025 winner, citing the supportive environment and understanding from fans and coaching staff.

Dugarry stated, “The team that recruits him will want him to play every day… Whereas at PSG, he is in an ideal cocoon to bring the best of himself and for it to last as long as possible.”

Meanwhile, Jerome Rothen speculates that if Dembele leaves Paris, it won’t be for another top European side but rather “une destination exotique,” noting the difficulty of replicating his current status elsewhere.

Canal+ journalist Bertrand Latour adds that despite minor media incidents, Dembele’s extension is imminent, with official announcement expected soon.
