In-form attacker, Ousmane Dembele, was on target for France on Sunday night, helping Les Bleus to overcome Croatia in the Uefa Nations League.
The PSG star born to African parents started for France on the matchday in the second leg meeting with Croatia in the quarter-finals of the competition.
France went into the encounter trailing Croatia by two goals after losing the first leg on Thursday.
In the second leg today, youngster Michael Olise equalised in the 52nd minute giving France hope. Ousmane Dembele netted the crucial second goal in the second half, restoring parity to the tie.
With no winner at the end of the 90 minutes and extra time, the game proceeded to the penalty shootout.
In the shootout, Kylian Mbappe converted a spot kick, helping France to secure victory over Croatia to advance to the semi-finals of the Uefa Nations League.
With his goal against Croatia, Ousmane Dembele has now scored his 23rd goal in 2025.
He is gradually becoming a strong contender for the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.
