France forward of Malian descent, Ousmane Dembele, has been crowned Player of the Season for the 2024/25 Ligue 1 campaign.
The unstoppable forward was in the spotlight over the weekend at the UNFP awards ceremony in Paris on Sunday night.
PSG manager Luis Enrique, who has helped Dembele to peak, also earned top recognition for his outstanding coaching in Ligue 1.
The Spanish coach was also named Coach of the Year.
Since being deployed as a false nine from December, Dembélé has flourished, registering an impressive 33 goals and 13 assists across all competitions.
With both the UEFA Champions League and Coupe de France finals still ahead, his numbers could grow even more and has put the forward in the lead for the 2025 Ballon d’or award.
“Playing more centrally puts me at the heart of the game and closer to goal – it’s helped me become more composed in the box,” Dembélé told BeIN Sports after receiving his award.
The evening was a celebration of PSG’s dominance, with the Ligue 1 champions making history by having nine players included in the Team of the Season.
Among other major honours, 19-year-old Désiré Doué was named Best Young Player following a breakout season that saw him score 12 goals, provide 12 assists.
Meanwhile, Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier was named Best Goalkeeper for the 2024/25 French Ligue 1 season.
